It is an evolution of the Magnetic Puzzle.

Progetto Zen: Puzzle Magnetico / Project Zen: Magnetic Puzzle

"Photo frame" version

This project stems from the desire to make moduls in the Deister-Dielen XS-style (http://www.zfs.z-insider.de/pdf/2015_02.pdf), but using the Marklin tracks.

These are two prototypes on Project Zen: Helix-style modules (https://progettozen.blogspot.it/2017/11/project-zen-helix.html), but they can also be made of wood, with the roadbed and the normal landscape.

It is important to note that the tracks sections near the ends of the modules must be a little loose. In the prototypes they are fixed through the holes on the track sleepers - this is enough - and the same should also be done in traditional construction modules, without gluing the ends of the tracks on the roadbed.

The modules locking system uses ø4x10 mm cylinder magnets, inserted in a 10x10 mm square bar.
The north pole protrudes by 2 mm, while the south is recessed 2.5. In this way, before the modules are blocked, the rails can be inserted into the joints.
The protruding pole is inserted into the enlarged hole section at ø4.5, to compensate for tolerances.

For the materials I used leftovers from Project Zen: Helix, but in the final version the bases should be in Plexiglas (not in Lexan) with shiny edges and shiny metal strips.

In the interspace I inserted images that I composed with the computer and printed with inkjet, but you can also insert photographic prints taken from reality.

The geometry is a bit different from the Deister-Dielen XS: the curved module is 220x220 mm and consequently, in the straight one of 220x110, the track has the axis 25 mm far from the edge.

This is a layout with some possible module types:

I have other versions in mind, of which an even more magnetic... ;-)
