Phases of construction
Cardboard mock-up:
Note: All the measures below are in millimeters
Intermediate station
More than one can be added.
Lower station
Turns
There are three turns between stations.
The helix pitch is 37 mm (curves radius 195 mm, 3% gradient).
Note: The pantographs of electric locomotives must be fixed in the low position!
Cardboard layout for tests
With a 3% gradient, a locomotive can tow up to three long carriages without difficulty.
Tracing and cutting polycarbonate sheet
Polycarbonate has a thickness of 4 mm.
The working can be performed with tools for metals.
Note: The cuts should be made with its adhesive films attached (or tapes).
Finally all the pieces have been cut!
Then they have to be finished with abrasive paper ... 😧
Columns
The ends of the small columns (aluminum tube, diameter 6x1mm) must be cut with a gradient of 3%, then they must be inserted into the M4 threaded rods.
Note: The cut must be finished with abrasive paper and the angle checked.
